Multiple Infections

May 23, 2008 – 6:21 pm

There are times when spyware is piggybacking on top of a worm or virus. A few years ago, some miscreants used the spybot worm to put pornographic pop ups on infected user’s systems. The instigator of this one profited from people being directed to the pornographic site. This has a compound result. The user has to deal with the worm and the spyware. Good spyware blocking comes in handy because it can usually deal with both problems.

Multiple infections can seriously bog a computer down. This can slow a computer to the point that the user thinks it is broken. Often, if a computer is infected, it has multiple infections. Spyware can disable firewalls, which usually protect the system from invading forces. Spyware can also disable programs that interrupt the normal workings of the computer. These spyware programs or any combination of these nasty programs will confound the most comfortable computer user.

It is good that spyware blocking programs are available on the market to help us to deter these problems.
